About the role
The Chief of Staff will provide strategic leadership and administrative support to the Mayor and City Council. This role will be responsible for managing the Mayor's schedule, coordinating meetings, and ensuring that all communications align with the Mayor's vision and priorities.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Mayor's schedule and coordinate meetings with City Council members, staff, and external partners.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the Mayor's visibility and engagement within the community.
- Oversee the development and execution of the Mayor's agenda and ensure alignment with City Council priorities.
- Collaborate with City departments to identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
- Support the Mayor in developing and delivering speeches, presentations, and other public appearances.
- Ensure compliance with City policies and procedures related to scheduling and communications.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a leadership or administrative capacity.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in municipal government or a similar setting preferred.
- Knowledge of local government operations and processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management software.
