About the role
The Chief of Staff will be the Director of Early Media's right hand. They will be involved in high-stakes decisions, oversee critical initiatives, and build the company's operational muscle from within.
Responsibilities
- Owning the company's operating rhythm, including leadership meetings, planning cycles, OKRs, and executive reviews
- Executing high-priority initiatives from concept through launch, ensuring clear accountability among stakeholders
- Building and scaling Early Media's systems, including operations, finance, contracts, vendor management, reporting infrastructure
- Maintaining and building external vendor and partner relationships across marketing, brand, legal, and creative services, ensuring quality, voice, and ROI
- Communicating effectively with executives, boards, investors, and internal teams
- Identifying and addressing operational bottlenecks and resource gaps before they become issues
- Supporting hard-to-source hiring in partnership with recruiting
Requirements
- An operator first, moving fast and focusing on details others overlook
- A track record of solving ambiguous problems and delivering results without extensive oversight
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Solid judgment and discretion across all levels of the organization and with external partners
- Comfortable working in an ambiguous, context-switching environment and in a fully in-person setting in Austin
Qualifications
- Background in media, entertainment, or the creator economy
- Experience as an ex-founder or early hire at an early-stage startup
- Vendor management or contract negotiation experience
- Proficiency with modern operating tools such as Notion, Linear, etc.
- Genuine interest in vertical content, streaming, or the future of mobile entertainment
