Chief of Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery Division, Associate or Full Professor of Ob/Gyn Clinician Educator

About the role

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. This role will also serve as Chief of Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery Division.

Responsibilities

  • Training and supervision of Ob/Gyn residents and medical students
  • Plans to start a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
  • Gynecologic care and minimally invasive surgery
  • Providing multidisciplinary care of patients with complex conditions such as fibroids and abnormal uterine bleeding, chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis, and abnormal placentation and complex ectopic pregnancies
  • Expertise in multiple surgical modalities such as laparoscopy, robotics, and operative hysteroscopy
  • Basic, translational, clinical and/or health policy research

Requirements

  • M.D. or equivalent degree
  • Board certified and trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Formal fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS)
  • Established research program and outstanding record of publications

Qualifications

  • Expertise in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS)
  • Strong interest in education and leadership
  • Interest in educational leadership is highly desirable
  • Scholarly experience and leadership/development in MIGS preferred
  • Collaborative science is highly valued

Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Faculty appointment is available at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
