About the role
The Chief of Human Capital & Talent Development will lead the development and implementation of human capital strategies to support the educational mission of La Joya ISD. This individual will be responsible for talent management, employee engagement, succession planning, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement human capital strategies aligned with the district’s strategic goals.
- Lead talent management initiatives including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and professional development programs.
- Drive employee engagement through regular communication, recognition programs, and feedback mechanisms.
- Oversee succession planning processes to ensure a pipeline of qualified leaders across all levels of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations related to employment practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to align HR initiatives with overall organizational objectives.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in human resources management, preferably within an educational institution.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing effective HR strategies.
- Experience in talent acquisition, training, and development, and employee relations.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations.
- Experience with HRIS systems and other HR tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
