Chief Medical Officer - myPlace Health (PACE)
About the role
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) plays a crucial leadership role in overseeing clinical operations and ensuring high quality care and an outstanding experience for all participants. The CMO is responsible for the delivery and quality of participant care, clinical outcomes, and the implementation of the quality improvement program.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the accountable Chief clinical executive for the assigned region, ensuring high fidelity to the model of care and quality health outcomes.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement Program (QAPI).
- Maintain clinical utilization trends and guide teams to create appropriate intervention strategies.
- Develop a provider after-hours strategy and approach for on-call arrangements, considering participant and provider satisfaction.
- Provide consultation and support for Medical Directors regarding grievances, appeals, and IDT decision-making processes.
- Monitor and digest current literature and best practices to make recommendations on changes to clinical pathways, policies, and processes.
- Promote professional development of PACE primary care staff through regular meetings, one-on-one sessions, and other strategies.
- Participate on the Quality Committee and other committees or workgroups as needed.
- Build a best-in-class culture of engaged care teams, focusing on what matters most to the patient and enabling them to reach their care goals.
- Partner with local and national operating leaders to implement the care model, prioritize required capabilities, and evolve those capabilities over time.
- Oversee the work of IDT and other clinical leaders to ensure evidence-based, high-quality, cost-effective care is provided to PACE program participants.
- Directly provide medical care to PACE participants, including evaluations, diagnoses, documentation, and management of their medical conditions.
- Manage patient panels during new market entry or staff transitions, serving as the interim Medical Director as needed.
- Engage with major health system partners, medical networks, community-based organizations, and corporate sponsors to promote effective working relationships and care model adoption.
- Lead community outreach, marketing, and activities to promote membership growth and referrals.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree with active board certification in geriatrics, complex care, home-based care, palliative care, internal medicine, or another related clinical area.
- Minimum ten years of medical practice experience, with at least five years working with elderly or frail populations.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the appropriate state(s) assigned.
- Valid DEA certificate with continued licensure throughout employment.
- Up-to-date immunizations records.
- Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) preferred.

Base Pay Range: $360,000 - $420,000, Salary + Bonus Opportunity

Mostly Onsite: Location; Ability to be 100% physically present in the assigned markets at the care centers, in the community, or in our participants' homes on an as needed basis.
