About Legacybox

We help families preserve the things that only exist once. From VHS tapes and film reels to printed photos, negatives, slides, DVDs, camcorder cassettes, memory cards, and phones, we digitize the media that matters most so families can revisit and share those moments for generations to come. We are building a long-term family memory platform designed to help families preserve, organize, explore, and share their history together. We are not in the digitization business. We are in the irreplaceable business.

About the Role

The Chief Marketing Officer is the senior commercial leader responsible for customer demand, revenue growth, marketing efficiency, creative performance, e-commerce conversion, lifecycle, promotions, and the long-term strength of the Legacybox brand. You’ll manage an eight-figure annual marketing budget across digital, offline, partnerships, lifecycle, and emerging channels while leading a multidisciplinary team spanning Growth, e-Commerce, Creative, and Marketing Operations. You should be as comfortable reviewing yesterday’s sales and channel performance as you are setting a multi-year brand and growth strategy. At Legacybox, the CMO is ultimately accountable for building a marketing machine that consistently produces profitable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Own Revenue Growth
    • Own the marketing plan and revenue strategy across acquisition, conversion, retention, and reactivation.
    • Manage an eight-figure annual marketing budget across Meta, Google, YouTube, television, audio, affiliates, partnerships, HSN/QVC, and emerging channels.
    • Set clear expectations around CAC, ROAS, MER, contribution margin, conversion rate, AOV, LTV, and revenue.
    • Maintain a constant pulse on sales performance and move quickly when results change.
  • Lead the Marketing System
    • Lead Growth, Ecommerce, Creative, Lifecycle, and Marketing Operations as one coordinated revenue engine.
    • Build clear operating rhythms, scorecards, accountability, and priorities across the team.
    • Determine where marketing resources should be deployed and where the organization needs stronger capabilities, talent, technology, or outside partners.
    • Create a culture that values speed, disciplined experimentation, and measurable outcomes without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Build a Creative Advantage
    • Build a creative machine capable of consistently generating new concepts, messages, offers, hooks, formats, and campaigns.
    • Partner closely with creative leadership to develop a structured testing roadmap and quickly scale winning ideas across channels.
    • Balance performance creative with the long-term stewardship of an emotional and highly trusted consumer brand.
  • Own Ecommerce and Conversion
    • Treat Legacybox.com as one of the company’s most important growth channels.
    • Drive improvements across landing pages, product pages, merchandising, offers, pricing, promotions, checkout, mobile UX, and conversion rate optimization.
    • Build a rigorous experimentation roadmap and ensure learnings compound rather than disappear from one test to the next.
    • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to bring new products, capabilities, and customer experiences to market.
  • Drive Lifecycle and Customer Value
    • Build stronger relationships with customers after the first purchase.
    • Own the strategy across email, SMS, abandonment, nurture, winback, cross-sell, referrals, and membership.
    • Help expand Legacybox from a transactional digitization service into a long-term family memory platform.
    • Increase customer lifetime value while improving the overall customer experience.
  • Create Better Measurement
    • Build a marketing organization that understands what actually creates incremental revenue rather than simply what receives attribution credit.
    • Improve forecasting, attribution, incrementality testing, reporting, and marketing analytics.
    • Partner closely with Finance to allocate capital toward the channels and initiatives producing the strongest incremental returns.
    • Make performance visible enough that the team knows quickly what is working, what is not, and what should happen next.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of marketing experience with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Experience helping scale a direct-to-consumer, ecommerce, or digitally native consumer brand.
  • Experience managing significant marketing budgets and complex channel mixes.
  • Deep understanding of customer acquisition, ecommerce, creative strategy, lifecycle marketing, promotions, and consumer behavior.
  • Strong commercial instincts and genuine obsession with sales performance.
  • Excellent analytical judgment with the ability to distinguish useful data from noise.
  • Strong creative instincts and the ability to recognize messaging that will move customers.
  • Ability to prioritize aggressively and keep a broad marketing organization focused on the few things that matter most.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Bias toward ownership, speed, experimentation, and execution.

Nice to Have

  • Shopify or Shopify Plus experience
  • Subscription or membership business experience
  • Experience managing both digital and offline media
  • Television and CTV experience
  • Strong understanding of promotions and seasonal demand
  • Experience building high-output creative organizations
  • Marketing mix modeling and incrementality testing
  • AI-assisted creative, analytics, or marketing workflows
  • Experience launching new products or consumer categories

We’d especially like to meet candidates who have helped scale brands such as: Ridge, HexClad, AG1, WHOOP, Caraway, Vuori, Jones Road, Magic Spoon, Hims & Hers, Bombas, True Classic, Athletic Greens, Liquid Death, Native, Dollar Shave Club, Harry’s, Casper, Warby Parker, Away, Peloton, or other high-growth consumer subscription or e-commerce brands. Agency experience is valuable, but we’re primarily looking for operators who have owned growth from inside a consumer brand.

Work Environment

We embrace a flexible approach to work. Many of our team members are fully remote, and we value results, communication, and craftsmanship above location.
