Chief Financial Officer – Tallahassee, FL
About the role
The CFO will lead the financial functions of the Tallahassee (FL) Housing Authority and its affiliated nonprofit organizations. Key responsibilities include directing, monitoring, and implementing financial activities, maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reviewing and approving general ledger entries, and preparing and analyzing the agency's operating budgets.
Responsibilities
- Direct, monitor, and implement financial activities
- Maintain financial records and prepare reports
- Review and approve general ledger entries
- Prepare and analyze the agency’s operating budgets
- Assist on all strategic and tactical matters relating to budget management, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting needs, and securing new funding
- Maintain expert knowledge of Public Housing, Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher Program, Tax Credits, Bond Financing, Capital Fund, and Mixed-Finance Development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with major study in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Five (5) years experience in supervision at a department level position, preferably in a housing type organization employing computerized data base systems
- A combination of education and appropriate experience may be considered, with preference given to applicants holding CPA or MBA status
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in managing budgets and overseeing financial operations in a complex organization. Expertise in public housing and related programs is essential.
