About the role

A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking a hands-on finance leader to oversee accounting, billing, revenue cycle, payroll, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, KPIs, and financial operations. This role reports directly to the CEO and Board of Directors and leads a small team across accounting, AR, billing, payroll, and finance. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting and finance leadership experience, healthcare/nonprofit exposure, and the ability to improve processes, reporting, and revenue cycle visibility across a growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting, billing, payroll, AR, revenue cycle, and financial operations
  • Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, KPIs, and variance analysis
  • Prepare financial statements and present reporting to leadership and the Board
  • Supervise a small team across finance, billing, payroll, AR, and accounting
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team on strategy, process improvement, and financial decision-making
  • Monitor billing, reimbursement, payer revenue, claims, collections, and revenue stream performance
  • Work with outside CPA firm on audit preparation and compliance
  • Create and improve workflows, SOPs, dashboards, reporting, and internal controls
  • Support vendor, payer, insurance, and partner negotiations as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience required
  • Nonprofit, multi-location, billing, reimbursement, revenue cycle, or payer revenue experience strongly preferred
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, KPI, dashboard, variance analysis, and financial reporting experience
  • CPA, CMA, CFA, or master’s degree is a plus
  • Strong Excel, systems, reporting, and analytical skills
  • Ability to lead teams, improve processes, and partner with executive leadership
  • Stable work history preferred

Pay

$120,000 - $140,000 per year
