About the role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides leadership and directs the overall operation of UT Health Carthage and UT Health Henderson Hospitals, ensuring alignment with the mission, values, and strategy of Ardent Health Services. The CEO plans, organizes, and evaluates all resources to generate measurable results for the corporation, community, facility, medical staff, and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute a regional growth strategy for both inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Establish effective and collaborative relationships to foster growth plans and ensure alignment with joint venture (JV) partner goals.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing leadership environment.
  • Collaborate with local providers and organizations to identify high-quality, high-impact care models and strengthen referral patterns.
  • Create outreach programs for remote areas and communities.
  • Develop organizational excellence by supporting process improvements and streamlined workflows to enhance patient flow.
  • Strengthen workforce culture to ensure adequate staffing for continued growth.
  • Collaborate with system peers to reduce redundancies and duplication of services, capital, and personnel.
  • Capitalize on sharing high-performing resources across the system to promote consistency and performance.
  • Serve as a visible leader in the facility, system, and community.
  • Prioritize effective talent identification and selection processes across the organization.
  • Set clear direction for leaders and managers, establishing a culture of accountability.
  • Motivate, develop, and partner with direct reports to build their success.
  • Develop short- and long-range management and organizational plans aligned with facility goals.
  • Implement Ardent Health Services’ ethics and compliance program throughout the organization.
  • Ensure policies are uniformly understood and consistently administered.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the medical staff to meet community health needs.
  • Prepare operational and financial reports for regularly scheduled meetings and committees.
  • Maintain accreditation and licensure standards for JCAHO, Medicare, Medicaid, state licensure, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee the facility’s quality improvement and organizational effectiveness programs.
  • Ensure best practices and evidence-based approaches to deliver exceptional, well-coordinated care with high-level outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital Administration or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare administration.
  • Current knowledge of JCAHO, OSHA, state, and federal regulatory standards.
  • Excellent leadership, verbal, quantitative, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze situations, evaluate data, recommend, and implement courses of action.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Sound judgment in decision-making and ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning and short- and long-range goal implementation.

UT Health Carthage: Located in Panola County, UT Health Carthage features 23 private patient rooms, a 24-hour emergency department (Level IV trauma center and acute stroke-ready facility), advanced diagnostic technology, a cardiac rehabilitation program, GI lab, outpatient clinics, and a sleep lab.

UT Health Henderson: Serving Rusk County and surrounding areas, UT Health Henderson includes 41 operational beds, a 24-hour emergency department (Level IV trauma center and acute stroke-ready facility), surgical suites, advanced diagnostic technology, a maternity unit, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, wound healing center, and an AASM-accredited sleep center.
