About the role

The Menomonie Area Chamber & Visitor Center is seeking an experienced, strategic, and community-focused leader to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO leads the organization's strategic direction, financial sustainability, daily operations, and staff while working closely with the Board of Directors to implement the Chamber's strategic plan. As the organization's chief ambassador, the CEO builds strong relationships with business leaders, community partners, elected officials, and investors and ensures programs, services, and tourism initiatives deliver measurable value to the community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization’s strategic direction and implement the Chamber’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee financial sustainability, daily operations, and staff management.
  • Serve as the chief ambassador, building relationships with business leaders, community partners, elected officials, and investors.
  • Ensure programs, services, and tourism initiatives deliver measurable community value.
  • Manage human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, coaching, and personnel policy administration.
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial oversight, and audit processes.
  • Work with legal counsel on organizational policies and procedures.
  • Navigate complex organizational and community issues.
  • Negotiate contracts, develop partnerships, and generate revenue.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience, preferably within a chamber of commerce, nonprofit, membership organization, or similar environment.
  • Experience in human resources management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in strategic planning, organizational leadership, and change management.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, financial oversight, and audit processes.
  • Experience working with legal counsel on organizational policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational and community issues.
  • Experience with contract negotiation, partnership development, and revenue generation.
  • Strong communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with financial management systems; QuickBooks experience is a plus.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with regular attendance at early morning, evening, and occasional weekend meetings and events.

Pay

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Local travel throughout the community.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
