About the role

The Chief Engineer oversees the maintenance of the building's interior and exterior. Key responsibilities include HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical engineering, ensuring compliance with current codes and criteria. The role involves providing technical support and managing repairs, fostering a professional and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides office and building engineering support
• Ensures technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria
• Develops and adheres to the preventative maintenance program
• Serves as a leader in managing building repairs and staff
• Maintains a clean and functional environment
• Interviews, trains, and develops maintenance staff
• Manages schedules and maintains equipment maintenance logs
• Responds to emergencies and attends off-site meetings

Requirements

• High School Degree or equivalent
• Preferred AA degree in industry
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in hi-rise buildings
• HVAC Certification or comparable technical school certification
• Strong working knowledge of basic trades
• Proficient in analyzing technical aspects and interpreting systems
• Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency
• Valid Florida driver’s license

• Ability to respond to emergencies within 2 hours

Schedule

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position requiring availability for emergencies and occasional night and weekend work due to special projects. This is an exempt (salaried) position.
