About the role
The Chief Engineer position at Hueston Woods Lodge & Conference Center is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all facility operations. Located in South Western Ohio, the park features a diverse landscape and a full-service resort lodge & deluxe vacation cabins.
Responsibilities
- Take charge of all facility operations, ensuring seamless operation of guest rooms, event spaces, boilers, chillers, kitchens, laundry, building exteriors, and cabins.
- Play a critical part in delivering a safe, comfortable, and exceptional experience for every guest.
- Lead maintenance technicians, maintain maintenance ticket tracking system, and coordinate assignments.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems, perform preventative maintenance, and service the lodge’s pool.
- Schedule and manage third-party contractors, oversee workflow quality, and coordinate projects with ODNR.
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory, purchase supplies, and submit capital planning requests.
- Cover Manager on Duty (MOD) shifts as required.
Qualifications
- Must have 3-5 years maintenance experience, with 2 years direct maintenance supervisory experience.
- Skilled in all areas of trade including HVAC, boilers, electrical, carpentry, dry walling, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
- Willingness to respond to complaints and pitch in to help co-workers.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional time management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Physical & Environmental Demands
Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, grip items, work in assigned area, perform all job duties including lifting, moving heavy loads, be on feet for long periods of time, work in cold & hot temperatures, indoors & outdoors, perform duties in confined space and in awkward positions, lift and carry items weighing between 20 and 60 pounds per day.
