Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida is seeking candidates to join an active and collegial group to serve as Division Chief of Pediatric Nephrology. The division provides inpatient services at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, ranked #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida in the 2022-2023 U.S. News & World Report.

The division offers expertise in the care of young children with renal failure and patients with complex renal abnormalities who require dialysis and transplantation. These include infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of bladder and kidney problems, patients with hypertension and electrolyte abnormalities, and the assessment of pregnant women carrying a fetus with a renal abnormality noted on ultrasound. Physicians over the entire tri-state area call for consultations, as do the faculty of the University of Florida Health Science Center who need joint consultative care of the complex pediatric problems.

The division chief will be responsible for cultivating an environment that advances the strong clinical, research, and educational missions of UF Health. The Division of Pediatric Nephrology consists of 3 pediatric nephrologists, 2 nephrology fellows, 1 advanced practitioner, and dedicated Nephrology nursing and administrative support.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be board certified in Pediatric Nephrology and at the Associate/Professor level.
• The Department of Pediatrics seeks a dynamic, passionate, and capable physician leader with a proven track record across the spectrum of collaborative clinical leadership, administrative experience, program development, faculty recruitment, and community engagement.
• A distinguished record of innovative leadership, scholarly accomplishments, and excellence in administration is sought.
• Management, education or training is highly desired.
