About the role

The University of Mississippi Medical Center seeks a Chief - Nephrologist - Department of Pediatrics. Located in Jackson, MS, UMMC is an academic health science center dedicated to improving the lives of Mississippians through education, research, and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the clinical and research activities of the Nephrology Division
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance patient outcomes and quality of care
• Collaborate with other departments to improve patient flow and efficiency
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior faculty and residents
• Participate in medical student and resident teaching
• Contribute to the department’s research initiatives

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification in Nephrology
• At least 5 years of clinical experience in nephrology
• Experience in academic medicine and leadership roles
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
