Chief, Division of Pain Medicine – Associate/Full Professor (AC)

About the role

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track.

Responsibilities

• Teaching responsibilities may include assisting the fellowship director with educational initiatives and the instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC).
• Provide leadership of the Division of Pain Medicine across all three missions: Clinical, Education, and Research.
• Recruit, support, and mentor faculty specializing in pain medicine within the division.
• Collaborate with other leaders in the Department, Service Line, Hospital, VA and Health System to improve the division.

Requirements

• A B.A. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
• ABAI certification in anesthesiology.
• Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license.
• Fellowship training and/or extensive experience in pain medicine is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior leadership experience and record of successful teaching/mentorship is required.
