Job Overview
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Cincinnati (UC) seeks to hire an outstanding, broadly experienced, academic Clinical Pathologist to serve as Chief of the Division of Clinical Pathology and Medical Director of the UC Medical Center (UCMC) Clinical Laboratory.
Essential Functions
- Ensuring provision of high-quality lab services across all of its sections.
- Continued accreditation by regulatory agencies.
- Leading and mentoring clinical pathology faculty and residents.
- Providing consultations to faculty in other departments.
- Advising the health system regarding budgeting and capital equipment purchase.
- Other responsibilities as defined by regulatory agencies for this position.
- Clinical service responsibilities vary depending upon the expertise and background of the individual selected.
- Laboratory administration responsibilities will include teaching of pathology residents, medical students, and fellows, and participation in research.
Minimum Requirements
- Medical degree (M.D. or equivalent).
- Completion of a three-year (clinical pathology) or four-year (anatomic and clinical pathology) residency program.
- Board-certification or eligibility in Clinical Pathology.
- Licensure by the State of Ohio Medical Board.
