Chief CT Technologist

About the role

The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring: efficient workflow of the section; compliance with budgetary policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and compliance of State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations; department/hospital policies, procedures, objectives and philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Supervises imaging services, including performance or supervision of tests, and daily management of assigned personnel.
• Aids in compiling statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.
• Establishes and maintains modality accreditation certifications.
• Contributes to the preparation of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative and operational policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Responsible for hiring, disciplining, and promoting department staff.
• Examines diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of exam ordered and any special notes or comments.
• Collaborates in the development of in-service training for departmental staff.
• Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology / Diagnostic Imaging Program.
• Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer.
• ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modality required.
• CPR and BLS certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
