About the role
The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring: efficient workflow of the section; compliance with budgetary policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and compliance of State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations; department/hospital policies, procedures, objectives and philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Supervises imaging services, including performance or supervision of tests, and daily management of assigned personnel.
- Aids in compiling statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.
- Establishes and maintains modality accreditation certifications.
- Contributes to the preparation of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative and operational policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Responsible for hiring, disciplining, and promoting department staff.
- Examines diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of exam ordered and any special notes or comments.
- Collaborates in the development of in-service training for departmental staff.
- Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology / Diagnostic Imaging Program.
- Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer.
- ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modality required.
- CPR and BLS certification required.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
