Primary location: Rapid City, SD USA. Department: RCH MIS CT Scan. Full-time position with 40 scheduled weekly hours.
About the role
Performs CT examinations utilizing a variety of technical aspects that require judgement, ingenuity, and initiative in applying ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic images. Promotes a cooperative and professional atmosphere with emphasis on patient care. Serves patients of all ages. $20,000 Sign On Bonus Available for Qualified Candidates.
Responsibilities
- Consistently demonstrates a thorough knowledge of patient positioning, principles of CT radiation exposure, quality control, image reconstruction, specialized protocols and demonstrates the ability to plan own work.
- Assists physicians in performing procedures and provides a learning environment.
- Prepares and administers correct amount of contrast using aseptic techniques as outlined in the Infection Control manual; able to start and maintain IV lines; documents appropriately in patients' charts.
- Develops and maintains teamwork; demonstrates willingness to learn new procedures and accepts additional responsibilities; is on time and prepared to work scheduled hours.
- Documents appropriate information in patients’ charts and ensures the procedure and related supplies are billed correctly.
- Presents high-quality images to Radiologists.
- Competently works within required computer programs (i.e., PACS, RIS, Vrad) as well as manual downtime processes.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate of a Radiology Program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 days of hire or transfer.
- (ARRT)(R) (CT) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification with advanced certification in Cat Scan or completion of CT Registry within 12 months of hire.
- 1+ years of customer service experience and 1+ years of radiographer experience.
- Ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a related field.
Physical Requirements
- Very Heavy work: exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects.
- Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
Pay
Starting pay rate range: $31.62 - $39.53 per hour, determined by the knowledge, skills, and experience of the applicant.
