Responsibilities
- review police reports
- make charging decisions
- appear in court for a variety of hearings
- take testimony at preliminary examinations and jury trials
- negotiate plea agreements
- occasionally handle appellate issues
- draft/respond to motions
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Member in good standing with the Michigan State Bar
- Possess sound decision-making skills
- Be self-motivated
Qualifications
The applicant will have the opportunity to work in a small office and have a large impact on the criminal justice system. The work hours are flexible aside from scheduled court appearances.
