Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney – Roscommon County Prosecutor’s Office

Responsibilities

  • review police reports
  • make charging decisions
  • appear in court for a variety of hearings
  • take testimony at preliminary examinations and jury trials
  • negotiate plea agreements
  • occasionally handle appellate issues
  • draft/respond to motions

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • Member in good standing with the Michigan State Bar
  • Possess sound decision-making skills
  • Be self-motivated

Qualifications

The applicant will have the opportunity to work in a small office and have a large impact on the criminal justice system. The work hours are flexible aside from scheduled court appearances.
