Job Summary/Purpose
Manages one or more functional areas within the department and provides direct oversight of CRNAs, CAAs, or more professional and support staff, including subordinate supervisors. In collaboration with the Director of Anesthesia Providers and Technicians, exercises hiring, promotion, and corrective action authority. Ensures high-quality anesthesia practice through consistent evaluation, clinical observation, feedback, and meaningful professional engagement with providers. Supports practitioners through performance evaluation, coaching, counseling, and corrective processes to promote professional growth and clinical excellence.

Minimum Training and Education
- Master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia or equivalent required
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical practice experience
- Demonstrated leadership engagement within the department required, such as completion of advanced degree coursework, leadership of quality improvement initiatives, participation on hospital-wide committees, CRNA of the Day (COD) or Lead CRNA, or participation in formal leadership development programs
Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a current license to practice and official recognition as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in the State of South Carolina
- Certification by the Council on Certification is required, with current recertification maintained as applicable
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required, either through the American Heart Association (AHA), BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA-recognized equivalent) or the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
