Position Summary
The Law Student Recruiting Specialist will lead all aspects of the recruitment, hiring and integration of summer associates and entry-level associates for the Chicago office. This individual will work closely with the Director of Attorney Recruiting & Integration, the Senior Manager of Law Student Recruiting, the Hiring Partner and Recruitment Committee, the Summer Chairs and Committee. The position offers significant exposure to partners, associates, and business professionals throughout the firm and provides an excellent opportunity for cross office collaboration on strategic talent development initiatives. The position also requires a high degree of industry knowledge and the ability to work independently as well as effectively with a team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute all aspects of law student and entry-level recruiting for the Chicago office.
- Administration of the Chicago summer program and OCI-related projects.
- Process new associate hires including coordinating and collaborating on local orientation schedules and assist with the conflicts and background check process.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with various law school careers services personnel to facilitate the Firm's recruiting efforts.
- Administration of the Chicago on-campus and in-office interview process for law students including registering for on-campus interview dates and coordinating all necessary arrangements, including preparing interview materials for attorneys and organize and track post-interview materials.
- Coordination of target school on campus programs, receptions and individual student follow up.
- Coordinate with law student groups regarding outreach and sponsorship events.
- Ensure the due diligence process for summer associate and entry-level candidates is completed.
- Manage the Chicago summer associate program by working with the Summer Associate Committee to plan and implement the program, including orientation, training, work assignments, social events, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain candidate application information in recruitment database (ViDesktop) and ensure accuracy of data in a timely manner, route applicant information.
- Prepare and send interview schedules, greet, and escort candidates, solicit evaluation feedback, and prepare interview files.
- Support Recruitment Committee members to implement strategic plans and help determine recruiting teams.
- Represent firm at related on campus events and programs.
- Manage summer program and OCI budget for the Chicago office.
- Coordinate with local Associates Committee Members on quarterly events and Chicago office initiatives and assist local administrative teams with local Attorney Meetings.
- Manage the departure process for Chicago office non-partner attorneys.
- Supervise department staff, including the Law Student Recruiting Coordinator and Law Student Recruiting Assistant, as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 4+ years of law firm recruiting or professional client-service experience, including at least 2 years specializing in legal recruiting required.
- Experience supervising or supporting team members is preferred.
- Ability to be onsite 3-4 days a week, with flexibility for 5 based on department and office needs, or changes to firm expectations required.
Competencies
- Knowledge of NALP and industry-wide legal recruiting practices and standards and a familiarity with attorney development and training.
- Demonstrate excellent judgment, professionalism, leadership, organization and team-management skills.
- Ability to positively represent and promote the Firm and possess excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
- Strong managerial skills.
- Proficiency with ViDesktop, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
- Must be available for work outside of normal schedule hours.

Pay
Illinois based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $100,000 - $112,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
