About the role
We have a new opportunity for a Per Diem Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) for our Homecare clients in Essex County. This position pays up to $20/hour plus differentials and requires a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to visit clients in their homes.
The CHHA provides direct care and services to residents within the scope of duties, responsibilities, and certification under the direction of a licensed health care professional.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct care to clients in their homes.
- Operate and maintain common medical equipment.
- Identify and recommend solutions to care-related problems.
- Communicate clearly with patients, co-workers, medical staff, and the public.
- Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current New Jersey Certified Home Health Aide License.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and a safe driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a CHHA working with the frail or elderly.
- Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before direct client contact.
Skills
- Knowledge of home-health-aide principles, practices, standards, and techniques.
- Awareness of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Ability to use and maintain medical equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff, and the public.
- Problem-solving and clear communication abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in emergencies.
Pay
Up to $20/hour plus differentials.
