About the Role
This position requires a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) who provides direct care/services to residents within the scope of duties, responsibilities, and certification under the direction of a licensed health care professional.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct care/services to residents within the scope of duties, responsibilities, and certification under the direction of a licensed health care professional.
- Uses knowledge of principles, practices, standards, and techniques of a home health aide.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff, and the public.
- Communicates clearly and effectively, reacts calmly and effectively in emergency situations, and works independently with minimum supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certified Home Health Aide License (New Jersey).
- Current driver’s license with proof of auto insurance and a safe driving record.
- Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before direct participant contact.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year working as a CHHA with the frail or elderly.
- Knowledge of medical equipment use and maintenance.
- Ability to identify and recommend problem resolution.
Skills
- Knowledge of principles, practices, standards, and techniques of a home health aide.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
