About the Role

We are hiring for per diem (as needed) Certified Home Health Aides (CHHA). Under the direction and supervision of the Home Care Coordinator/Registered Nurse, you will assist participants in their homes with duties essential to their health, following individualized care plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-home care to participants in accordance with their individualized care plan.
  • Assist with duties essential to the participant’s health and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by identifying common safety hazards and following precautions.
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with participants, co-workers, medical staff, and the public.
  • React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) License in New Jersey.
  • Current driver’s license with proof of auto insurance and a safe driving record.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a CHHA with the frail or elderly.
  • Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before direct participant contact.

Skills

  • Knowledge of principles, practices, standards, and techniques of a home health aide.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, co-workers, medical staff, and the public.
  • Skilled in identifying and recommending problem resolution.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
