Chemistry & Physical Science Instructor

The Carl Albert State College seeks a dedicated and committed colleague to teach Chemistry and Physical Science courses. This position is a full-time, 10-month, contracted position for the Poteau campus. Position begins August 2026.

About the role

Teach Chemistry and Physical Science courses at the college level. Provide instruction in a variety of courses including but not limited to General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science. Maintain high standards of academic integrity and student success.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lectures and laboratory sessions
• Assess student learning through quizzes, exams, and assignments
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles
• Mentor students and provide guidance on career paths
• Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field from an accredited institution
• At least three years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Knowledge of current pedagogical techniques and best practices
• Experience with educational technology tools

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
