About the Role

What if your years of advanced chemistry training could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex scientific problems on earth? We're looking for Chemistry Masters and PhDs to design, solve, and evaluate advanced chemistry problems that teach AI to think like a real scientist.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for working researchers, academics, and industry chemists. No AI background needed — just deep domain expertise and a commitment to scientific rigor.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop complex, real-world chemistry problems spanning organic, inorganic, physical, and computational chemistry
  • Solve and review advanced problem sets with scientific precision, depth, and clarity
  • Evaluate AI-generated chemistry reasoning and identify gaps, errors, or oversimplifications
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to improve model performance
  • Ensure scientific rigor and accuracy across all deliverables — from problem design to written explanations

Who You Are

  • Holds a Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field
  • Deep expertise in one or more of the following: organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry
  • Comfortable writing clearly and precisely — you can explain complex chemistry to a technically literate audience
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and able to work independently without close supervision
  • Proficient in Python or experienced with computational chemistry software (e.g., Gaussian, VASP)
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, scientific evaluation, or AI training workflows
  • Background in research, academic instruction, or technical writing
  • Familiarity with quantum chemistry, molecular dynamics, or cheminformatics tools
  • Experience reviewing or grading complex chemistry problems at a graduate level

Why Join Us

  • Work at the frontier of AI — your expertise directly shapes how next-generation models understand science
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you, on your own schedule
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, intellectually stimulating work
  • Collaborate with world-leading AI research labs and domain experts across disciplines
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
