CHEMISTRY ADJUNCT POSITION

About the Role

Belmont Abbey College invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach an upper-level Analytical Chemistry course in spring 2027. The position involves teaching a daytime, in-person lecture and lab.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, teach, and assess students in an Analytical Chemistry lecture (3 hours per week).
• Teach a corresponding 3-hour lab session once per week.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Chemistry or ABD; PhD preferred.
• Prior college teaching experience is preferred.
• Must understand and embrace the responsibility of supporting the college’s Catholic identity.
• Willingness to participate in an academic community dedicated to a Catholic and Benedictine educational vision.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a teaching and research philosophy aligned with the institution’s emphasis on educating the whole person, as expressed in Ex corde Ecclesiae by St. John Paul II.
