Chemist
Job Description
The Chemist 1 will ensure that products meet or exceed customer requirements for quality and food safety, as well as develop an in-depth understanding of specific systems. The success of the Chemist position is measured in local impact to customer happiness, minimization or process variation, process recovery realization, waste reduction, cost minimization, and ability to act as a specialist backup.
- Assess quality parameters and systems including cross-checks, raw materials, calibration, maintenance, procedures, food safety, training, auditing, and oversight of analytical testing performed in control rooms.
- Provide process improvement support, specialized testing, training, audit systems, analyze data, identify trends, troubleshoot, corrective action, and communication regarding processing data, final product, and wastewater.
- Maintain and coordinate the chemist technician partnership and training systems.
- Approve final production and assurance of compliance to customer specifications.
- Handle customer audits, initiatives, and follow-ups.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in science.
Skills
Strong analytical skills, knowledge of food safety regulations, proficiency in laboratory equipment, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Pay
Pay Rate Range: $25/hour - $29/hour depending on experience.
Schedule
12-hour shifts (7AM-7PM and 7PM to 7AM) rotate from day to night every 4 weeks. 2-2-3 schedule (M T, F Sat Sun, W Thu).
