About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Lab Scientist to support analytical chemistry laboratory tests and facility activities. This onsite role is responsible for assisting with analytical testing, laboratory maintenance, equipment coordination, controlled documentation, and sample management while ensuring compliance with established quality standards and laboratory procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical chemistry knowledge, experience with laboratory instrumentation, and a commitment to data integrity, safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain analytical chemistry instrumentation, including HPLC, LC-MS, GC, spectrometry, and titration systems.
  • Perform analytical testing activities, such as routine laboratory analyses, analytical method development, and validation.
  • Troubleshoot instrument and laboratory issues and coordinate maintenance activities as needed.
  • Draft, review, revise, and maintain controlled documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), analytical methods, forms, work instructions, and laboratory records.
  • Ensure documentation is completed accurately, legibly, and in compliance with applicable quality standards.
  • Coordinate laboratory logistics and operational activities to support testing schedules and project timelines.
  • Follow laboratory safety procedures and promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • 3–5 years of laboratory, technical, or operations support experience in an analytical environment.
  • Working knowledge and experience of analytical techniques and instrumentation, including HPLC, LC-MS, GC, spectroscopy, and titration.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory documentation practices and controlled-document management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate degrees in science.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated laboratory environment.
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and data integrity principles.
  • Experience authoring and maintaining laboratory SOPs and quality records.

Work Environment

This is a primarily onsite laboratory-based position with a standard schedule of Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional flexibility may be required to support laboratory activities. Overtime is not expected on a routine basis but may be needed periodically based on workload. The role requires handling chemicals, laboratory reagents, and analytical instrumentation, as well as the ability to stand, walk, and perform routine laboratory tasks for extended periods. Pay & Benefits

This is a Contract position based out of Hazelwood, MO. The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
