Chemical Technician II
About the role
The Electropolishing Technician's responsibilities include processing parts for surface cleaning (chemical etching and electropolishing) utilizing chemical baths, operating machinery, racking parts, ensuring quality, maintaining equipment, and adhering strictly to safety/process protocols in manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Chemical etching and electropolishing of metal parts
- Understand and follow the instructions and specifications from engineering
- Load and unload parts onto racks for chemical tanks
- Operate automated and semi-automated lift equipment
- Maintain equipment readiness
- Follows appropriate safety guidelines including donning PPE
- Assists with the preparation of chemical solutions
- Visually inspects parts prior to processing
- Performs post-processing inspection and packaging of parts
- Keeps the work area neat and clean by sterilizing all work surfaces and equipment
- Maintains stock levels of process materials
- Works alongside engineering to optimize production process
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical, observational, and time management skills
- 5% or less of the workday standing for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, and reason
- Must be able to wear PPE as required
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch
Skills
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing chemical processes (cleaning, etching, plating, and polishing)
- Knowledge of chemical safety procedures (HAZCOM and HAZWOPER)

Shift 1: Monday through Friday, 0600-1430
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs, stand for prolonged periods of time, stoop, kneel, or crouch, talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, and reason, and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
