Chemical Service Technician
About the role
Bargreen Ellingson is looking for a dependable, mechanically minded Chemical Service Technician to join our Seattle service team. This role involves providing quality service to customers with various types of commercial appliances, including dish machines at restaurants, hotels, schools, and other facilities that lease and service equipment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with both equipment and people, has experience servicing commercial equipment, strong troubleshooting skills, and excellent customer service. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, managing a service territory, and responding to customer needs with a flexible schedule that includes occasional overtime and on-call responsibilities.
We’re ideally looking for someone who lives in Seattle or North Seattle, as this position will primarily service that area.
Responsibilities
- Manage a given territory with exceptional service to customer accounts.
- Install and maintain chemical dispensers at restaurants, laundry, grocery, and healthcare facilities.
- Install and maintain dish machines, from under-counter to conveyor units, at restaurant, grocery, and healthcare facilities.
- Conduct routine and thorough preventative maintenance visits to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Maintain the appearance of the service vehicle, both inside and out.
- Manage parts inventory and conduct cycle counts for the assigned service vehicle, as well as follow up on any discrepancies.
- Respond to and resolve emergency service calls during business hours and after hours/weekends when on call (rotating on-call schedule is required).
- Create and maintain positive relationships with key individuals (customers, territory sales reps, suppliers, and co-workers).
- Work with management to provide any necessary training for employees.
- Adhere to safety and security guidelines, report any accidents or incidents immediately, and follow company policies and procedures.
- Maintain custody of, track, and safeguard all tools, equipment, and materials issued by the company.
- Promptly report any lost, damaged, or missing tools or equipment to the supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of warewash, laundry, or similar experience.
- Familiarity with smartphones, tablets, and email.
- Ability to drive a company work truck or vehicle.
- Ability to follow safety standards that vary from site to site.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Overall mechanical aptitude.
- If assigned a vehicle over 10,001 pounds, a DOT Medical Card is required before starting.

- Reliability and dependability are essential, as customers rely on service visits to maintain their business operations.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Constant use of a hand truck to lift, move, and place items.
- Must be able to safely tolerate heat or other inclement weather.
- Regularly required to talk or hear, read and identify numbers for accurate order filling and receiving of material.
- Apply sound reasoning and logic to perform daily tasks.
Pay
$22.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
- Work schedule may include nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours with mandatory overtime and on-call status.
- Regular attendance is necessary.
