Job Summary

Primary Function: To perform product evaluations.

Working Relationships

• Reports to Technical Team Lead
• May provide limited guidance to junior staff for projects as required
• Collaborates with other Engineers and Technicians
• Ensures communication with administrative personnel and account managers

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct test programs on consumer products and prepare the associated documentation, including collecting and reviewing data and writing reports
• Assume responsibility for the completion of assigned projects within negotiated time and cost schedules
• Work under general supervision
• Review programs and identify further needs to the customer
• Communicate with customers and other stakeholders as needed
• Research standards and equipment
• Design and may build test set‑ups and equipment

Work Environment

Physical labor is anticipated for many programs. Client contact and vendor relations will be part of the duties.

Preferred Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 0–3 years of experience in a laboratory or research and development/testing role (for Technician IV, an Associate’s degree and 10 years of experience preferred)
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment; machine shop experience preferred
• Computer knowledge necessary
