About the role

Controls chemical process and operates all related equipment using the distributed control system (DCS). Adjusts controls to regulate variables as per instructions, following work instructions (WI) and Manufacturing Control Plans (MCP). Performs set up procedures to prepare systems for operation, including staging and weighing raw materials. Monitors and troubleshoots the process to maintain required operating conditions. Conducts in process Quality Control testing. Performs minor maintenance on process and support equipment. Uses business management system to enter work orders and requisitions. Transfers and moves materials in heavy containers. Assists in packaging product for shipment and in loading/unloading product or raw materials. Participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements. Keeps work area safe and clean. Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.

  • Maintains smooth operation of filling lines to package, label and weigh intermediates and final product.
  • Maintains required operating conditions by monitoring and troubleshooting the process.
  • Conducts in process Quality Control testing.
  • Performs minor maintenance on process and support equipment.
  • Enters work orders and requisitions using a business management system.
  • Transfers and moves materials in heavy containers.
  • Aids in packaging product for shipment and loading/unloading product or raw materials.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements.
  • Ensures work area is safe and clean.
  • Supports implementation and maintenance of the Responsible Care® Management System in line with RC14001® requirements.

Requirements

Manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to details. General mechanical aptitude. Ability to read and interpret operating instructions. Basic knowledge of shop mathematics in order to read batch sheets. High level of safety awareness and attention to details. Written, verbal communication and active listening skills. Capacity to cross-train with other operating units. Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-based environment. Organizational and record keeping skills. Familiarity with computers as a user. Flexibility in performing changing assignments and work schedules. High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2-3 years of chemical operation experience is preferred. Must have been in current position for at least 12 months to be eligible to apply for other internal positions.

Pay

$22.84 to $31.40 an hour during the training period. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skill, qualifications, and experience.

Schedule

Off-shift hours may be required.
