Job Summary

The Process Engineer position is available in the Valdosta, GA office of Packaging Corporation of America (PCA), a Fortune 500 company. PCA is seeking resumes for multiple Chemical Process Engineer positions. The ideal candidate will provide process optimization and engineering support for the mill, including compliance process coordination, lean projects, quality, product safety, and analytical and systems support.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains methods for tracking and reducing operational costs.
  • Coverage of data analysis projects and use of data to make business decisions.
  • Assignments may include some work at higher levels for training and development purposes.
  • Ensure that pulp, power, paper and all support operations are compliant with all applicable environmental State and Federal permits and laws.
  • Consult with engineering on capital planning and project implementation for process modifications or upgrades.
  • Support the Mills goals for safety, environmental, and other areas of need.
  • Effectively manage jobs for the best result at the lowest cost.
  • Look for opportunities to solve issues, reduce cost, and improve planning performance.
  • Effectively manage contractors for performing jobs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Science or equivalent education and experience required.
  • A minimum of 1-4 years’ experience in process engineering or production in the Pulp & paper industry.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Successful completion of drug screen required and authorization to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

  • Preferred qualifications include Pulp & Paper Manufacturing Industry experience.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed.

Pay & Benefits

Starting salary range for the position: $85,000-$90,000. Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year. Paid Holidays. Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages – medical, dental, and vision – and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages. Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
