Chemical Process Engineer

Essential Duties

• Develops new and existing processes for TETRA’s Operations from concept to the finished operating process.
• Produces material and energy balances for all new or existing Operations.
• Uses CAD programs to build or modify line drawings.
• Performs complex chemical engineering calculations and provides primary support to resolve process upsets.
• Trains others on process improvements and develops process improvements.
• Works with R&D, Operations, Contractors, Sales, and other related teams to understand scope and provide expertise as needed.
• Investigates and identifies root causes of incidents, including providing support in removing nuisance alarms.
• Develops and completes Management of Change.
• Communicates effectively through writing EOD and presenting.
• Provides support during startups, shutdowns, and plant turnarounds.
• Works with team to lead projects, build scopes, cost models, acquire equipment, write procedures, and conduct start-ups and turnovers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 2-5 years of active process/project experience in Manufacturing Environment.
• Ability to travel 10%.
• Valid Driver’s License.
