Chemical Operator
About the role
As a Chemical Operator, you will perform process-related tasks in a chemical manufacturing environment to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role is responsible for operating chemical processes, monitoring equipment and systems, maintaining accurate production records, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, including applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Responsibilities
- Operate chemical manufacturing processes involving either continuous or batch reactions
- Follow all site safety, environmental, and operational regulations
- Adjust instrument settings and process formulas based on guidance from the laboratory or supervisor
- Maintain accuracy of production records
- Monitor process performance to ensure safe and efficient production
- Identify and report safety concerns immediately to supervision
- Report equipment issues or deficiencies so repairs can be made promptly
- Work collaboratively with other operators within your assigned process area
- Complete production logs, records, and process documentation accurately
- Perform analytical tests required to support process performance and product quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the process area
- Perform simple or minor maintenance on equipment when needed
- Use various tools and equipment required to perform daily duties
- Participate in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security (HSES) activities directed by management
- Support continuous improvement by providing feedback and suggestions to improve HSES processes at the site
- Absorb new information and knowledge quickly
- Assist in training fellow employees for certifications within the work area
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a production, laboratory, and office environment
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate documentation
- Willingness to learn and grow through training and certification programs
- Ability to work safely in a chemical manufacturing environment
- Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills
Qualifications
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the role in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Benefits
This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Operations Manager and will be based at our site in Salisbury, NC.
