About the role

Welcome to Valtris Specialty Chemicals. Our purpose is to manufacture and provide specialty chemicals that enhance our customers' products and processes, fostering innovation and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate equipment, including start up, shut down, and change out of product. Operate equipment such as reactors, tanks, conveyors, forklift, pallet jack.
  • Cut open bags to make batches. Charge raw materials as per batch steps.
  • Monitor and adjust controls to regulate tank and reactor levels, temperature, and pressure. Record detailed and accurate reactor conditions on batch sheet.
  • Package final product in bags, drums, or supersacks as per customer and company guidelines.
  • Move product bags and drums manually and/or with a forklift.
  • Able to operate a forklift.
  • Work within confined spaces to change filter cartridges and bags while adhering to OSHA standards.
  • Perform routine housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work station.
  • Observe safety precautions to prevent chemical reactions. Report product and machine malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
  • Other duties as assigned based on customer and company needs.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Chemical and/or Powder Machine Operator experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Basic mathematical calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to manually lift, push and move up to 50 lbs. throughout shift.
  • Medical evaluation by a physician that certifies the ability to wear a respirator.
  • Able to wear a negative-pressure elastomeric seal respirator.
  • Ability to work within an environment that requires bending, stooping, climbing, pushing/pulling, reaching (at or above shoulder height), twisting at the waist.
  • Ability to work in an environment with the following conditions: chemical and mechanical operations, confined spaces, dust and fumes, working within safe proximity to forklift and machine operations, exposure to heat and humidity, hearing or talking around loud machinery, and wearing personal protective equipment.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.

Schedule

This position offers two shifts: one day shift from Tuesday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, and one night shift from Monday to Thursday, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM. Both shifts qualify for a $2,000 sign-on bonus.
