Chemical Handler
We are looking for a Chemical Handler to join our Catalyst team in Attapulgus, GA. BASF’s Catalysts division is the global market leader in catalyst technologies. The division develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts as well as process catalysts and offers precious metals trading, recycling, and related products and services.
About the role
As a Chemical Handler at our BASF manufacturing operations in GCCP, you will play a critical role in supporting the safe receipt, handling, transfer, and shipment of raw materials and chemicals. Working closely with operations teams, you will help ensure efficient production processes while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, transfer, and handle chemicals and raw materials from railcars, trucks, and other vessels.
- Operate process systems and equipment, including transfer controls, valves, hoses, and process monitoring systems, while following established operating procedures.
- Verify shipping and receiving documentation, inventory levels, material specifications, and quality requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
- Collect, label, test, and deliver samples while maintaining accurate operational records, reports, and transaction data.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while supporting process safety initiatives and operational excellence.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willing and able to work an 8-hour shift schedule and perform work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Able to read, write, perform arithmetic calculations, and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
- Able to safely operate material handling equipment, process control systems, and associated plant equipment.
- Able to recognize and respond appropriately to environmental, operational, and personnel safety hazards.
Schedule
12-hour rotating shift.
Pay
$28.89 per hour, per the Union's collective bargaining agreement.
