About the role

This position is for a Radioactive Material Controller - RMCO, performing a variety of tasks in the controlling and monitoring of chemicals within the facility in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitors chemicals, related equipment, and waste system indicators
• Makes chemical and equipment adjustments to ensure proper system functioning and chemical solution balance
• Removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents, and acids
• Inspects hazardous waste production and storage units
• Maintains operational logs
• Cleans up chemical spills
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
• Work is performed in occasional hazardous working conditions and requires the use of specialized safety equipment and apparatuses

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Final clearance required to start
• High School/GED and 2 years of additional education and/or experience
• No relocation assistance available
• Not eligible for telework
• No travel requirements

Qualifications

• Nice to have: experience with handling radioactive material

Skills

• Good understanding of chemicals (acids, bases, oxidizers, flammables, reducers, water-reactives) in various forms (liquids, solids, gases, sludges, slurries) and related incompatibilities to prevent undesirable chemical reactions
• Ability to use specialized safety equipment and apparatuses

Pay

Salary range: $57,000.00 to $74,000.00. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, and may vary from the posted range.
