Chemical Filling Operator 1

This individual will be responsible for the filling, sealing, and labeling of various reagents by means of written and/or verbal instructions. This includes recording all pertinent information in various Assembly Procedure (AP) and logs associated with the operation.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize filling equipment before each run to avoid product contamination.
• Set up filling equipment per appropriate procedures for the filling/sealing/labeling operation.
• Operate and monitor filling equipment during filling operation to ensure accuracy of fill volume, efficacy of the seal, and accurate labeling information.
• Load/unload product as they come off the filling equipment ensuring count accuracy and quarantine product as required.
• Record all pertinent information completely and accurately onto documents that are part of the Device History Record (DHR) in accordance with GMP and quality system requirements.
• Clean filling equipment and area after each run to maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with established procedures and schedules.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to support production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Read and write English and be able to follow both written and/or verbal instructions.
• Possess basic mechanical aptitude including but not limited to use of hand tools and gauges to properly set up and operate filling, capping and labeling equipment.
• Perform basic math and counting.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, bouffant, gloves, hearing protection, face shield, nuisance mask, cartridge respirator.
• Exposure to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Quality System Regulations (QSR).
• Awareness of general manufacturing safety practices; willingness to follow OSHA and company safety procedures.
• Ability to safely operate manual and electric pallet jacks, or willingness to be trained.
• Must be a team player with a positive, quality-focused attitude.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing demands.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email and learn electronic systems for documentation and training.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• 1 – 3 years of experience as a machine operator or similar filling operation desired.
• 0 – 2 years of experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment.
• 0 – 2 years of experience in a Quality System Regulations (QSR) environment.
• 0 – 2 years of experience in a regulated environment (OSHA safety standards).

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to perform tasks that may involve extended periods of time standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, turning, climbing steps and carrying up to 50 pounds several times/hours a shift.
• Require repetitive use of arms/wrist/hands while setting up/working with equipment/computer throughout the shift.
• Pushing/Pulling pallets and tanks up to 4,500 lbs. using manual pallet jack.
• Must have good hand/eye coordination and visual acuity.
• Must be able to distinguish colors.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, cleaning agents, and noise, in compliance with safety procedures.
