Chemical Engineer - Cranberry, PA

About the role

As a Senior Chemical Engineer, you will support Component Engineering and Chemistry Operations working with plant personnel and Westinghouse counterparts to support asset management. You will report to the Manager, Component Engineering & Chemistry Operations. This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse facility in Cranberry Twp, PA. Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience on plant operations as it relates to primary/fuel and reactor chemistry and secondary/steam chemistry
• Perform operational chemistry assessments to manage secondary side chemistry and maintenance planning
• Plan and control chemistry program changes
• Apply general chemistry expertise to water chemistry control and material applications
• Troubleshoot plant systems, modification programs, temporary and permanent material usage, and chemistry program management

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering required
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• Knowledge of general chemistry and data interpretation
• Technical writing proficiency
• Ability to support decisive decision-making and collaborative asset management planning

Preferred Qualifications

• Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) knowledge
• Knowledge of PWR secondary side chemistry and steam generator operation
• Knowledge of PWR primary reactor coolant chemistry

Pay

Estimated base salary range: $85,200 to $106,500 per year, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
