Chemical Engineer
About the role
This position reports to the New Product and Process Development Group Manager and is responsible for the development, testing, and validation of new products and their associated manufacturing processes. The Chemical Engineer will primarily work on RBC self-lubricating liner products involving resin, structural and lubricant fillers, composites, and adhesion improvements. Additional projects include development and troubleshooting of lubricants (greases and oils), bearing seals, cleaning and plating baths, and other chemical processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop new-engineered products for RBC Bearings.
- Provide chemical process development expertise and assistance to RBC Divisions.
- Assist RBC Divisions with manufacturing troubleshooting.
- Perform analytical analyses of current and newly developed products and processing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
- Knowledge of thermosetting resins, thermoplastics, and elastomers (a plus).
- Knowledge of composite systems and manufacturing techniques (a plus).
- Knowledge of plating principles and practices (a plus).
- Analytical chemistry knowledge, especially with FTIR and DSC.
