Chef Manager

Job Responsibilities

• Manages production for 3 points of service: patients, retail and catering.
• Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities.
• Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food.
• Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality.
• Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus.
• Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen.
• Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 2 years of experience in a culinary management role.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Culinary Arts degree preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• SERV Safe certification or HACCP knowledge required.
• Experience with production systems is preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

About the Role

Aramark Healthcare+ is seeking candidates for a Bench Chef Manager position to support the Penn Medicine Health System. This position will travel to various Penn Medicine Hospitals as needed.

The Chef Manager is responsible for developing and executing culinary solutions to meet customer needs and tastes. Offers a wide variety of culinary solutions to meet customer and client needs and tastes. Oversees and manages culinary operations to meet production, presentation, and service standards. Applies culinary techniques to food preparation and manages the final presentation and service of food.
