Responsibilities
- Assisting in menu planning, implementation, and execution
- Working in the main kitchen which services both our Promenade Café, Tea Lounge, and in-room dining
- Maintaining the assigned station / section in a clean and orderly manner at all times
- Training associates as necessary in the preparation and presentation of items
- Suggesting alternative menu items, meeting specific customer requests, and interacting with customers to meet and exceed their culinary expectations
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years work experience
- Recent experience in a la carte dining, preferably in hotels
- Experience in luxury international brands, highly regarded
- Qualification in Commercial Cookery
- Demonstrated in-depth skills and knowledge of kitchen operations
- Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards
- A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment
