About the role
The Pete’s Sunset Grille Restaurant Chef de Cuisine will oversee the culinary operations, ensuring guest and employee satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Assume senior leadership roles and manage all aspects of the restaurant's culinary operations.
- Develop and implement creative menu items and special events.
- Manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee the preparation and cooking of various food items, monitor food production, and ensure quality and consistency.
- Plan and coordinate special events and holiday functions.
- Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction.
- Resolve customer complaints and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Implement procedures to increase guest and associate satisfaction.
- Perform daily walk-throughs to ensure full compliance with health regulations and Hyatt standards.
- Participate in marketing events directly related to the restaurant.
- Manage the Spa operations in the front and back of the house.
- Hire, train, empower, coach, and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures.
- Aid in the implementation of payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory, and budget for the operations.
- Ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards.
Qualifications
- In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship skills.
- Experience with training, basic financial management, and customer service.
- A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment.
- Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner.
- Strong training and communication skills.
- Culinary education and/or on-the-job training, independent restaurant experience preferred.
- Geographic and schedule flexibility required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Possession of the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service, and ability to improve the bottom line.
- Refined verbal and written communication skills, including competency with Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment, including guests, associates, management team, and owners.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and be flexible to work AM/PM shifts according to business demands.
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized.
- Physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- California Food Handlers Certification required.
- CA Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification Required.
