Job Overview

Ebenezer is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our team at Jones‑Harrison. This full‑time culinary services position prepares and cooks meals using standardized recipes to meet high‑quality care standards. The role plates food for optimal eye appeal to encourage consumption by residents in our Senior Living Community in Minneapolis, MN. Jones‑Harrison Senior Living offers Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing and Long‑Term Care with 53 assisted‑living, 9 memory‑care apartments, and 120 skilled and long‑term care beds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals by following standardized recipes.
• Handle and prepare food safely, adhering to policies, infection‑control, and safety standards.
• Ensure timely production and meal service for residents.
• Set up line service.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use.
• Assist with special events.
• Support the Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff.

Requirements

• Required ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date.
• Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications.
• Good problem‑solving and time‑leadership skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational/technical training, education, or degree.
• Cooking experience in a similar environment.
• Scratch cooking experience.

Schedule

Full‑time, 64 hours per two weeks. Day/early evening shifts with every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday). Reliable schedule.

Compensation

Pay rate is determined by skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, market conditions, and internal equity. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. Eligible roles may receive a sign‑on bonus according to the approved program at the time of offer.
