About the role
As the Quality Assurance Assistant, you will coordinate safety and quality functions and assist the Administration Manager in ensuring the warehouse complies with safety and quality policies and principles. This position involves implementing identified safety and training programs and a variety of associated operations while upholding all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety and work rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the Document Control Center, Data, and Records of the Quality System.
- Support, document, and follow up on Internal Audits, QMS/QIS, and Corrective Actions raised from Internal Audits.
- Update visual aids, process instructions, quality procedures, corrective and preventive actions, and client documentation.
- Generate and update control charts as well as Quality QOS Review and validation of all controlled documentation used and displayed throughout the plant against QIS.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects.
- Work closely with the Supervisor to develop improvements to employee performance and service provided to all other departments.
- Perform plant tours to detect any non-compliant activities within quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and/or area.
- Develop any new activity or project assigned.
- Ensure Weekly Triggers files are sent to Suppliers on a timely basis.
- Manage and follow up on the aged material process; notify the Customer for proper disposition.
- Manage excess/slow-moving inventory and seek disposition.
- Maintain Vendor/Parts profile updates in the system.
- Improve operations communication with Suppliers and Customers continuously.
- Prepare all paperwork and backup data for return shipments.
- Ensure customer responses are made within customer service objectives.
- Responsible for several reports and monitor compliance.
- Coordinate cycle counts as required for Sync Report Analysis.
- Set up and maintain all vendor, contact, and part profile information.
- Actively participate in Customer/Internal Corrective Action and Improvement Plans.
- Support other areas as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to handle basic statistical control methods.
- Previous Inventory experience.
- Current or previous experience with a Quality Management System.
Skills
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, Windows, or Visio.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, verbal).
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
- Ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
- Previous experience with Internal Audits, Document Control, and Corrective Action plans.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
