Charlotte Checkers Game Presentation Internship 2026-2027 Season

About the role

Join the Charlotte Checkers as a Game Presentation Intern for the 2026–27 season. This hands-on internship places you at the center of the live show at every Checkers home game. You'll work directly with the Game Presentation team to write scripts, develop in-game entertainment, and execute game nights from setup through breakdown at Bojangles Coliseum. The goal is to provide real-world experience and the skills needed to step into a full-time game presentation role in professional sports.

This internship is unpaid and intended for college credit.

Responsibilities

• Draft scripts, PA reads, and in-game announcements for Checkers home games
• Develop and pitch concepts for intermission games, promotions, and fan engagement
• Assist with mascot appearance requests, booking, and scheduling
• Support stage management on game nights, including cueing talent and promotions and keeping the show on time
• Handle pregame setup and postgame breakdown of game presentation elements
• Collaborate with partnerships, marketing, and ticketing teams on in-game elements
• Support special events, projects, and department initiatives throughout the season

Requirements

• Enrolled undergraduate, graduate-level student, or postgraduate with a 4-year degree
• Strong creative, organizational, and communication skills
• Organized and dependable in a fast-paced, live event environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds

Schedule

• September 2026 – April 2027
• Approximately 12–24 hours per week (flexible based on class schedule)
• Availability for Charlotte Checkers home games, including evenings and weekends
• In-office one to two days per week (flexible)
