Charitable Trusts Section Investigative Auditor IV (Supervisor)
About the role
The Investigative Auditor IV (Supervisor) supervises, assigns and monitors work of Investigative Auditors who conduct investigations of charities, charitable trusts, and professional fundraisers, and review asset sales, mergers, conversions, and other transactions that are subject to the supervision of the Attorney General.
Responsibilities
- Investigate allegations of misuse or diversion of charitable assets and recommend corrective action to enforce compliance with law.
- May be called to serve as an expert witness in court trials.
- Helps analyze complaints, referrals and filings to assess whether further investigation is appropriate.
- Works knowledge of an extensive body of laws and regulations relating to charitable corporations, private foundations, trusts, and tax-exempt organizations, nonprofit accounting and auditing principles and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to independently conduct a limited number of the most complex audit/investigative assignments.
- Working knowledge of good oral communication and writing skills.
Requirements
Some travel may be necessary.
