Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- Work Experience: 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting
- Licenses and Certifications: RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure, BCLS - Basic Life Support, ACLS - Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery, PALS - Emergency Department, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification, NRP by the end of orientation period (Womens Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery), PEARS Certification (at Piedmont Athens Hospital), ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department)
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery)
Skills
Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures, ability to provide clinical care, effective communication skills, leadership and resourcefulness.

Overview
Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.
